the final touches

This is the final week for this class so I will be working hard on making the final touches to my senior project. If time allows I would like to add a couple more images to my essay. We will see.

testing is the hardest thing to do

Frustration is totally setting in with this testing stuff. Cross browsing has got me stuck and I'm trying to pull myself out of it. Ugh...I wish there was an easier way to do this. I did some research on cross browsing and found ways to fix the bugs so I think it's okay for now I just hope if I add something from now to the end it doesn't change anything with the look and feel in different browsers. The final stages are coming up.

images, drawings, and things

Have been busy with taking loads of pictures. I feel like the paparazzi at this point but I want to be able to work with something good so I like to have choices and lots of them. I also have been drawing a lot or more like doodling and hope to some way add them into my photography. I'm getting excited and this has been a fun project to work on. I also gathered some sound files that I hope to add to this project. Hopefully it will turn out the way I would like it to. I have done a couple of flash tutorials for the essay but in the end result it wasn't what I was looking for so it was a little fustrating but I got over the obstacles and just tried another one and now making progress. I should be able to start testing soon, I have some friends and family in mind that will be able to help me out with the testing. We'll see how things go and hopefully things will be done in week six.

peers comments and suggestions

On the third week we turned in our project prototype and got some feedback from the class. The following suggestions or comments were made.
  1. Change the horizontal scrolling (I purposely did that because I thought it would be different but it does give me an idea for the final project to maybe fix this issue)
  2. Change the link color (I've been meaning to do it but keep forgetting, it is now fixed for the final project :0) )
  3. Instead of having files to upload maybe turning them into a webpage for faster loading time (this is actually a good idea and if time allows I will definitely consider doing this)

Good suggestions and look forward to how I can incorporate them into my project and improving the look and usability.

things are looking up

Got my computer back this week so all is good in the world. I was able to look back on my files from my senior research class. So I got to see how far I have come and what I need to fix or if I want to make some changes. The only thing that could be an issue now is where I sent my computer to have it fixed forgot to connect the wireless up again so I have no internet connection still so I'm juggling between computers still until I finish this class because I don't want to take anytime away from being able to work on my project.

just a thought

I had this thought on April 22, 2010. I actually like keeping this journal thing. It helps me go back and take a look at what I done and how I came up with the idea. I wish I had more entries because my memory doesn't seem to work too well. And today I'm feeling adventurous so lets see what more I can find to take photos of.

prototype

Worked very VERY hard on the prototype. My plan was to get most of it done so all I had to work on was the final photo essay. I finished what I was hoping to get done and I'm pleased with the results. May change a few things and see what feedback I get back from the class. Most of the site is designed using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. The main navigation menu is Flash and the small logo in the beginning is Flash. I used Photoshop to create most of the graphics and added the reflection to the photos in Photoshop as well. I purposely created the horizontal scrolling to view the photography. I thought the idea was different and not many sites used that scrolling. I do have something else in mind for the galleries if the horizontal scrolling is not liked, thought I would give it a try. We'll see... :)
